Loveland, Colorado
On a Wednesday afternoon in Loveland, Colorado, Nic Tice was walking his two children — ages 5 and 3 — through a crosswalk when all three were struck by a truck.
Nic — the son of GarageSaleMap's founder — was thrown to the ground with multiple serious injuries and placed in a medically induced coma. He is expected to recover, with a long rehabilitation ahead. His five-year-old daughter was trapped beneath the truck and airlifted by Flight for Life to Children's Hospital Colorado, where she is beginning her own long recovery in the ICU. Their three-year-old son was, mercifully, discharged the same night.
Nadia — mom, and a stay-at-home parent — is now splitting her days between two hospitals while facing emergency room bills, specialized pediatric care, ambulance and Flight for Life costs, ongoing therapy, and the loss of Nic's income during his recovery.
The fundraiser is organized by Nadia's sister-in-law, Trisha Vallejo. Every dollar goes to the family's medical bills and recovery. If you can't give, sharing helps just as much.
