Garage Sale Map ("we," "us") operates garagesalemap.app and yardsalemap.app. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
Information we collect
- Account information you provide: name, email address, mobile phone number, ZIP code, and optionally a street address and the keywords you're hunting for.
- Payment information: subscriptions are processed by Stripe. We do not store your card number.
- Usage & location: approximate location (if you allow it) to show sales near you, plus basic usage and device data.
How we use your information
- Provide the service — show garage, yard, and estate sales near you and build routes.
- Send messages you opt into (weekend alerts, reminders) and account/transactional messages.
- Process your subscription and provide support.
SMS / text messaging. If you opt in (by checking the consent box when you create an account),
we use your mobile number only to send you garage-sale alerts and account messages.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information — including your mobile phone number and
your SMS opt-in consent — with any third parties for their own marketing purposes.
Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel at any time,
or HELP for help. Consent to texts is not a condition of using the service.
Email
We send weekend alerts, reminders, and account emails. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time.
Service providers we use
We share only what's needed with providers that run the service: Stripe (payments), Resend (email delivery), Twilio (text messaging), and map/geocoding providers. Sale listings come from public third-party sources. These providers process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own marketing.
Data retention & security
We keep your information while your account is active and as needed to run the service, then delete or anonymize it. We use reasonable safeguards to protect your data, though no system is perfectly secure.
Your choices & rights
You can access, correct, or delete your information, and opt out of texts (STOP) or emails (unsubscribe) at any time. To make a request, email hello@garagesalemap.app.
Children
The service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
We may update this policy; material changes will be posted here with a new effective date.
